Pop star [lastfm]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm] will show off her acting chops, as well as her unbelievable singing chops, in her first major role in the musical Burlesque.
In the upcoming film to be release at Thanksgiving, the multiple Grammy award winning singer portrays a small town girl who moves to Los Angeles hoping to make it big. She finds a job waiting tables at the Burlesque Lounge, owned by ‘Tess”, played by Oscar winner [lastfm]Cher[/lastfm]. She soon becomes the club’s lead performer, but discovers that a rise to fame has its price to pay.
The big question is, will Xtina dazzle the silver screen as well as she has her music fans for so many years? After all it’s been quite some time since the 29-year-old was an up-and-coming artist, and she found success pretty quickly through her musical brilliance with her debut album hitting #1 on Billboard. Now here she is playing the role of a struggling artist, something that she has much experience with. So is she believable? Judging from the trailer and this perfectly amazing exclusive Burlesque clip of “Something’s Got A Hold On Me,” I’d say YES!
Burlesque, written and directed by Steven Antin, starring Kristin Bell, Cher, Stanley Tucci, Cam Gingandet and Christina Aguilera, opens in theaters nationwide on November 24th.
